The client and president of ANTAS, a non-profit organization that provides animal-therapy for children that have difficulty building healthy relationships, requested a design for an onotherapy facility. Located in the hills around Tivoli, Italy, the structure creates spaces for children to interact with donkeys that act as therapy animals and spaces for riding and classrooms for activities and other forms of therapy. The structure consists of laminated wood with outdoor brise-soleil coverings and houses administrative rooms, reception area, stalls. Energetically, the structure is self-sufficient and able to enter the national electricity grid produced by suitable monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic panels, the field is 10 kWp photovoltaic of 13,000 kwh / year of energy.
